The Iowa State University College of Human Sciences career services office this month will begin offering a new mock interview program with actual employers, rather than staff members, to help students practice speaking with recruiters and interviewing for jobs, the college said in a release. Offering practice interviews with actual employers adds another dimension of realism to the exercise and increases engagement with employers and organizations that want to work with the students, said Tammy Stegman, the College of Human Sciences’ career services director. Currently the mock interviews are offered for event management and child, adult and family services majors, but the goal is to offer mock interviews with employers to all College of Human Sciences majors in the future.
