Two of downtown Des Moines’ signature events have been recognized on an international scale by the International Festivals & Events Association. For the third time, the Des Moines Arts Festival won the coveted the association’s top honor. In all, the festival won 26 awards and the Downtown Farmers Market won nine awards at the association’s annual festival this week in Tucson, Ariz. “Winning the Gold Grand Pinnacle Award reflects that we are truly one of the best festivals in the world,” said Stephen King, executive director of the Des Moines Arts Festival.
