Goodwill launches $8M capital campaign, will open Johnston store soon

110 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and Culture, Retail and BusinessGoodwill Industries has launched its first capital campaign, seeking $8 million to pay for the remodeling work at its new store and headquarters in Johnston and to ensure services to clients aren’t interrupted. Goodwill hopes to open the retail store at 5355 N.W. 86th St., the former home of American TV & Appliance, by the end of October. The corporate headquarters and training and career centers are expected to open at the site by March. Goodwill President Marlyn McKeen estimated that Goodwill clients last year generated $29.8 million for the local economy. This year, the organization has helped to place more than 700 clients in jobs, a new record.
