DART bike program marks 10th anniversary
The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority this week marked the 10th anniversary of its bike and ride program. Bike racks have been added to all local, express, flex and on call vehicles, and DART has logged more than 355,000 bike and ride trips since 2005. On average, the racks get used on 4,311 trips a month. DART General Manager Elizabeth Presutti said local bicyclist Carl Voss was a key force in getting the program started.
