State regulators require Dakota Access commenters to sign up by Friday

Anyone who wants to speak at the Iowa Utilities Board’s Nov. 12 hearing on the proposed Dakota Access LLC oil pipeline across Iowa must sign up today or Friday. The eight-hour session will begin at 9 a.m. at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Boone. Speakers will be called in the order that they signed up. To register, call  515-725-7300 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. You will be asked to state your name, address and whether you want to speak in favor of the state issuing the permit or against it. At the hearing, the board will alternate between speakers who favor the project and those who are opposed. Each speaker will get two minutes. A roster of speakers will be posted online. Read more
