IDALS offers record number of beekeeping classes
The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship reports that various organizations are offering a record 27 beekeeping schools. Early enrollment is encouraged to ensure that minimum enrollment numbers are met. Fees vary. There are currently about 4,500 beekeepers in Iowa who manage more than 45,000 colonies of honeybees. Honeybees provide $92 million in value to the Iowa economy as crop pollinators. Read more
