Bankers Trust names former CDS Global chief as leader of newly created IT position

293 wordsAll Latest News, Banking and Finance, Lift IOWADebra Janssen, most recently president and CEO of CDS Global Inc., has been named chief operations officer at Bankers Trust Co. She will start work Jan. 11, according to a release.
At Des Moines-based CDS Global, she oversaw strategies for sales/marketing, technology, call centers and nine operations centers. Janssen was the CIO and spent 16 years at M&I Data Services/Metavante, which was acquired by FIS, Bankers Trust’s core processor.
Janssen also held several executive-level roles at MasterCard Worldwide, Fidelity Information Services and First Data Corp. At MasterCard, she was the executive responsible for a business division that processed debit and prepaid card transactions in 25 countries and 17 currencies.
“As Bankers Trust continues on its march toward becoming a $5 billion bank, it became apparent we needed to add a senior leader who is focused on scalable growth for our IT and Operations departments, while bringing additional best practices to the organization,” Bankers Trust President and CEO Suku Radia said in explaining the need forJanssen’s position. “We are committed to maintaining an environment that supports our growth strategy, which means we continually reassess our competitive position, structure, products and talent to ensure they are best in class.”
Gov. Terry Branstad appointed Janssen to the Iowa Partnership for Economic Progress board. She is a director for United Way of Central Iowa and has previously served on the the Greater Des Moines Partnership board.
Janssen is a native of Milwaukee. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she continued her education in the executive master of business administration program. She’s also studied at the Hearst Management Institute and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
