Greater Des Moines will host the 2018 convention of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. The Greater Des Moines Partnership said it’s the first event booked with the planned 330-room Iowa Events Center Hotel in the mix. “I am very pleased that the ACCE National Convention is the first major event booked as a result of our new convention center hotel,” Gerard Neugent, chairman of the Iowa Events Center Hotel Corp. board, said in a statement. “This is a huge win for us, for Polk County, the City of Des Moines and the region overall. We look forward to showcasing our metro to an influential group of business leaders from around the world.” The event will bring 1,000 chamber executives to Greater Des Moines.
