The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization wants your help in picking which projects to finance. MPO is considering 27 projects, including trails, streetscapes, new buses, and road construction. More than $47.9 million in projects have been submitted to be considered for the $13 million available through the U.S. Department of Transportation. Check out each project on the MPO’s interactive map. You may submit comments through Jan. 31. A public meeting is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at the MPO’s office, 420 Watson Powell, Jr. Way, Suite 200. The MPO will present its review of the projects to local elected officials in February. Grants are expected to be approved in April for allocation in the 2020 budget year. Read the full news release.
