Metro Waste Authority director Reo Menning resigned Thursday, a day after the board was scheduled to meet in closed session to discuss her performance. Clive City Councilman Michael McCoy, who had been the waste agency board president, will serve as director until the board chooses a new director. McCoy resigned from the board. A news release gave no reason for Menning’s departure. An MWA spokeswoman could not say how much McCoy will be paid. Menning had held the position since 2014, expanding the agency’s transfer station operations and household hazardous waste collections.
