Des Moines airport traffic up 9.7 percent in January
Passenger traffic at Des Moines International Airport was up sharply in January, gaining 9.7 percent over the total for the same month in 2015. The number of people getting on or off a plane in Des Moines rose to 195,334, up from 178,065 in January 2015. The airport was coming off a stretch when monthly growth was far lower; it ended 2015 up 2 percent for the year. The biggest percentage gains in January were by Frontier Airlines and Allegiant Air.
