Residents of the River Bend neighborhood want to move the old Burns United Methodist Church -- which faces demolition for a development -- and use it for a community arts center, The Des Moines Register reported.

Residents of the River Bend neighborhood want to move the old Burns United Methodist Church — which faces demolition for a development — and use it for a community arts center, The Des Moines Register reported. Hubbell Realty Co. plans to buy the property from Burns United to build an apartment complex. Hubbell and church members say they want the site cleared by June 1.
