Waukee sees traffic grow
Daily traffic on Ashworth Road near Grand Prairie Parkway has increased more than 50 percent to 5,743 from 3,725 in 2012, according to the city of Waukee. The numbers are part of the first traffic count conducted along Grand Prairie Parkway since it opened earlier this year. Counters tallied an average of 8,500 motorists on weekdays. That number dropped to about 6,500 on weekends. Traffic on Alice’s Road between Hickman Road and University Avenue averaged 11,731 during the recent survey, up from 8,050 in 2012 and 5,200 in 2008.
