Greater Des Moines house sales are up on a month-to-month and year-over-year basis in June, according to a report from the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors. The report said 1,587 houses sold last month, up from 1,369 in May and 1,491 in June 2015. The median sale price was $184,962 compared with $181,500 in May and $177,000 in June 2015. Houses sold within an average of 91 days, a slight drop from May and an increase from 66 days a year ago. The inventory of houses for sale was 3,293 last month, down from 3,586 last year. The number of contracts written for future sales increased slightly last month to 1,349 from 1,339 last year, but dropped from 1,626 in May.
