Health systems in Iowa were consistently ranked among the top in the nation on all measures of performance, the Iowa Hospital Association said in a blog post. The association cited the recently released 2016 Scorecard on Local Health System Performance by the Commonwealth Fund. Dubuque was ranked No. 10 for its health system performance overall, with Cedar Rapids at No. 11. Mason City, Iowa City and Des Moines were ranked 24th, 27th and 32nd in the country, respectively. Overall, the report found that health care in Iowa has improved significantly since 2011, with nearly the entire state in the top quartile for overall performance among the 306 communities ranked.
