Iowa has the fourth-best health care in the nation, according to an analysis by WalletHub. WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across three key dimensions: health care costs, health care access and health outcomes. Iowa ranked fifth in health care costs, 25th in access and 11th in outcomes. The categories were evaluated using 29 weighted metrics. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 representing the best health care. Overall scores were then calculated for each state using the weighted average across all metrics to construct the final rankings. Average monthly insurance premiums in Iowa were ranked 12th-lowest in the country.
