Annual rowing regatta canceled
The Des Moines Rowing Club announced that it has canceled its annual Head of the Des Moines Regatta on Saturday because of unsafe water levels on the river. With an updated forecast for heavy rain north of Des Moines and already high river levels, it was not possible for the Army Corps of Engineers to lower the river level to safe levels, the club said.
