The Des Moines Arts Festival has received a Gold Grand Pinnacle Award for Best Festival in the World from the International Festivals & Events Association. The association presented the award Tuesday during its annual convention in Tucson, Ariz. The festival won and additional 25 awards, including 14 other Gold awards. Winning entries came from organizations as diverse as the Pasadena Tournament of Roses in California and the Boryeong Mud Festival in South Korea. “Winning the Gold Grand Pinnacle Award reflects that we are truly one of the best festivals in the world,” said Stephen King, executive director of the Des Moines Arts Festival. “Celebrating our community through the arts is what makes the Festival such a vibrant and important event, and to be recognized by our peers as the best is a tremendous honor.”
