Outlets of Des Moines, the first mall of its kind to open in Greater Des Moines, is on schedule to open Oct. 20, 2017, according to AltoonaNow, the marketing arm for economic development efforts in the city that will host the mall. AltoonaNow reported that a steel “backbone” has taken the project vertical. Landscaping and parking lot paving are planned for spring; tenants will build out their spaces in the summer and fall in nine buildings on the 34-acre site. “It’s a welcome signal that New England Development’s project is on schedule and set to wrap up the second phase of construction, despite a summer of high heat and heavy rain,” according to AltoonaNow.
