Iowa house sales and prices increase from a year ago

Sales increased 7.5 percent last month, with 3,853 houses sold, compared with 3,583 a year ago. The number of properties that were sold during the first three quarters of the year was 4.3 percent higher than the same period last year. The median sales price last month was $149,645, compared with $139,900 a year ago. Houses that sold last month had been on the market an average of 73 days, up from 67 in September 2015.
