Registered apprenticeship events set for Nov. 14-20

124 wordsAll Latest News, Economic DevelopmentIowa Workforce Development has scheduled a series of events across the state to enable residents to explore registered apprenticeship opportunities during Registered Apprenticeship Appreciation and Awareness Week, which will be held Nov. 14-20.
Gov. Terry Branstad will sign a proclamation on Nov. 10 to celebrate Iowa’s growing registered apprenticeship field.
“Work-based learning, and apprenticeships in particular, have been identified as a key strategy to help us achieve our Future Ready Iowa goal of having 70 percent of Iowans in the workforce have education and training beyond high school by 2025,” Branstad said.
In Des Moines, a Lunch and Learn Apprenticeship Day event is scheduled for Nov. 17 at IowaWORKS, 430 E. Grand Ave. For more information and to RSVP, email Edgar Ortiz or call 515-725-3622.
