YMCA branches to make child care available on Election Day

121 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and Law, Health and WellnessThe YMCA of Greater Des Moines will provide child care services at all nine of its branches on Election Day, Nov. 8, to make it easier for parents to vote. The program, called Zoe’s Kids Day Out, is an extension of the Y’s national Zoe for President Campaign that highlights every child’s potential to achieve great things — even the presidency of the United States one day — if they’re properly nurtured and encouraged. The branches’ Learn & Play Centers will be open to to both members and nonmembers for children ages 6 weeks to 9 years old. The cost of the program is $1 per child for YMCA members and $2 per child for nonmembers for an hour of care.
