Muscatine County is removing large large ash trees on the courthouse lawn after an infestation by the emerald ash borer.

Des Moines Register: Muscatine County is removing large large ash trees on the courthouse lawn after an infestation by the emerald ash borer. Damage caused by the beetle kills the trees and will leave the limbs brittle and ready to fall. The state said today that the emerald ash borer has been confirmed in Osceola and is now found in 39 counties.
