The Iowa Finance Authority board has approved more than $6.2 million in grants to 25 housing organizations. The funding is provided from the State Housing Trust Fund’s Local Housing Trust Fund program. Grants will be used to preserve aging housing stock, subsidize local down payment assistance programs, provide low-interest loans or grants to assist Iowans in home rehabilitation, finance construction of new single-family housing for low-income Iowans and support housing for people with disabilities and homeless assistance programs. The Polk County Housing Trust Fund received $600,236, Dallas County Housing Trust Fund Inc. received $181,055, and the Southern Iowa COG Housing Trust Fund, which includes Clarke and Madison counties in its service area, received $229,482.
