Planned Parenthood completes merger
Planned Parenthood of the Heartland and Planned Parenthood of East Central Iowa announced Monday that their merger is complete, and the affiliates are now working under the Heartland name.
The merger will provide expanded services to people in East Central Iowa, including adoption referrals, sexual assault examinations, male cancer screenings, prenatal care and age-appropriate education programming.
With the merger, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland now operates 21 health centers in Iowa, including six in Greater Des Moines.
