Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc.’s revenues rose to $11.53 billion for 2011, up 9.3 percent from 2010, while net income increased 16.1 percent to $993 million for the year, the company reported. Revenue from the company’s Marsh Inc. brokerage and risk management unit rose 9.9 percent to $5.21 billion for the year. In the fourth quarter, revenue for Marsh Inc. grew 6 percent to $1.39 billion and net income rose 26.1 percent to $256 million. The company’s Marsh U.S. Consumer group employs approximately 1,800 people in Urbandale.
