Ceremony and blood drive to honor outstanding senior volunteer
The Salute to Senior Service program is honoring Curtis Hedrick as Iowa’s outstanding senior volunteer for his continued work as a volunteer with LifeServe Blood Center.
Hedrick is 91 years old and has donated seven gallons of blood along with volunteering.
Home Instead Senior Care, a group that honors seniors with the award, will host a recognition ceremony at 2:30 p.m. today at LifeServe Blood Center, 431 E. Locust St., with a blood drive to follow after the event.
