Quad Cities identified as fast-growing tech sector
The Quad Cities ranked No. 18 on the list of Top 25 metro areas for high-tech employment growth from 2010 to 2011, growing by 8.7 percent, according to a study released by entrepreneur advocacy group Engine Advocacy.
The Quad Cities ranked No. 16 on the list of top 25 metro areas for high-tech employment growth for the period of 2006 through 2011.
The Des Moines metro has gone from a high-tech employment concentration of 0 to 2 percent in 1991 to a concentration of 2 to 3.5 percent in 2011.
