Downtown office vacancy rate drops 38 percent
Downtown Des Moines’ competitive office vacancy rate has decreased by 38 percent since 2011, according to the Downtown Community Alliance.
The downtown group points to the purchase and repurposing of the Des Moines Building, the Fleming Building, the Equitable Building and the Allied Building as the reason for the sharp decline.
