The Johnston Planning and Zoning Commission approved a site plan and nine preliminary plats within the Beaver Drive Business Park on March 10.

A site plan submitted to the city shows a new building in the business park at the corner of Northwest Beaver Avenue and Northwest 57th Street.

The building will contain 22,517 square feet. The site plan, which was submitted by Greedy Investments LLC of Johnston, indicates that the building will house a machine shop and additional flex space for office or warehousing.

Ted Greedy, co-owner of Greedy Investments, said he hopes to break ground by the end of the month. The estimated $1 million project is scheduled to be completed by late summer.

Greedy said he thinks the area will be successful because of the addition of two new housing developments to the north of the business park.
