Des Moines Area Community College and the Iowa Culinary Institute will host SWINE Festival 2008 at DMACC’s Ankeny Campus on June 21 from 4 to 9 p.m. “Iowa’s premier pork and wine event” will take place along the campus lake at 2006 S. Ankeny Blvd.
This year’s SWINE Festival, dubbed “where cork meets pork,” will offer gourmet pork creations from 10 of Iowa’s finest chefs and wine samplings from a selection of Iowa wineries. Chefs will offer pairing suggestions with their pork dishes, and all featured wines will be available for purchase.
Admission to the event is $35 and includes one bottle of wine of the guest’s choice from any of the participating wineries, a commemorative wine glass and unlimited wine and pork samples The Janey Hooper Trio will provide live music. Advance tickets can be purchased for $30 at www.iowatix.com.
