Thirty-nine percent of the respondents in a recent Dice.com survey said working with corporate recruiters was “not a good use of my time.”

“We were surprised but not shocked” by the results, wrote Tom Silver, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Dice, in a press release. “While 39 percent is certainly a large proportion, it means 61 percent see at least some of the value recruiters bring to a job search.”

Twenty-eight percent of those queried chose “yes, I got a job through a recruiter” as their response. Twenty-three percent said they had gone on interviews set up by recruiters but didn’t land a job as a result. Ten percent said recruiters had led them to “good contract jobs.”
