Cohousing leader to speak on community building
Building community will be the topic of architect Charles Durrett’s presentation during a July 14 event at the Windsor Heights Community Center, 6900 School St. in Windsor Heights. Intended to help community leaders, neighborhood associations, architects, green builders and city planners who want to create better neighborhoods, Durrett will present an overview of the cohousing concept, which includes neighborhoods composed of privately owned homes that are clustered around shared open spaces and common facilities. The event is being sponsored by Indigo Dawn LLC, Silent Rivers Inc., RDG Planning & Design and Turtle Farm Cohousing Community. The event costs $10 and is open to the public.
