E.I. du Pont de Nemours and & Co. announced yesterday that it has acquired Seed Consultants Inc. in Ohio and Terral Seed Co. in Louisiana as part of its Pioneer Hi-Bred PROaccess business strategy.

Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. is a DuPont subsidiary based in Johnston.

The Pioneer PROaccess strategy is designed to enable Pioneer to make its seed genetics available to more growers through a network of distributors.

Since 2008, DuPont has acquired eight companies, including three other acquisitions that closed earlier this month, with Ames-based NuTech Seed LLC among those. Terms for Monday’s acquisitions were not disclosed.
