Control Installations of Iowa Inc. (CI3), a 27-year-old building systems integration business, has acquired Automatic Door Group, CI3 President Wayne Hansen announced. The combined companies, both of which are located in Des Moines, will have 115 employees. “This purchase is a logical acquisition and natural union which allows us to expand our offerings of building technology and quality customer services,” Hansen said in a press release. Both companies grew in 2010 and expect further growth this year, he said. Automatic Door Group has been in business for more than 45 years and is one of the Midwest’s largest automatic door distributors. In addition to the Des Moines headquarters, CI3 has offices in Cedar Rapids and Lenexa, Kan.
