Wellmark Foundation supports DMARC project
The Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) has received a $25,000 grant from The Wellmark Foundation, which has committed the funds in support of the council’s “Mapping an End to Hunger in Greater Des Moines” project. “Through this grant-funded project, we will be able to actively engage many sectors of the community and create a vision for a food system that will serve the nutrition and health needs of all Polk County residents,” DMARC Executive Director Sarai Rice said in a press release. MovetheFood, a DMARC-led initiative to address the entire food system in the region, is set to launch this month.
