Senior housing project seeks approval for state funds
The Des Moines City Council will be asked today to approve an application for $1.2 million in tax credits and sales tax rebates to build 65 senior housing units at 2000 High St. in the Ingersoll Enterprise Zone. Ingersoll II LP plans to build the $8.6 million project with the help of $1 million in investment tax credits and a $200,795 sales tax rebate, according to a staff report to the council. The funds would come from the state’s Enterprise Zone program. The project includes three stories of affordable housing for seniors, an underground parking garage and a geothermal system.
