Iowa gains fifth-most financial jobs in 10-year period
Iowa is one of 21 states where employment in the financial sector has risen above 2001 levels, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data compiled by Bizjournals.com.
Iowa had 99,700 financial sector jobs in April, which was 8,900 more than in April of 2001. The gain was the fifth-largest among all states, trailing only Texas, North Carolina, Arizona and South Carolina. Iowa lost ground, however, from April 2010, when it had 100,800 financial sector jobs.
