The city of Des Moines Engineering Department and contractor Des Moines Asphalt and Paving Co. will begin resurfacing Grand Avenue from 35th Street to 44th Street with surface milling on Saturday. Paving is scheduled for the following Saturday, Aug. 20. 

The affected portion of the street will be closed to through traffic between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. tomorrow, but residents will be able to access their driveways.  Traffic will be rerouted to Ingersoll Avenue. The street will reopen for the week of Aug. 14-19, then the affected portion will again be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 20.
