Iowa Leading Indicators Index up slightly
The Iowa Department of Revenue’s Iowa Leading Indicators Index recorded a positive change of 0.1 percent in October after a loss of 0.1 percent in September and a loss of 0.3 percent in August. The overall index reading was 104.5; the index was constructed to have a value of 100 in the year 1999, when it began, and fell to a low point of just below 95 in 2009. In October, four of eight index components contributed positively: the agricultural futures profits index, the national yield spread, the Iowa stock market index and initial unemployment insurance claims.
