Meta Financial Group reports 2011 earnings
Meta Financial Group Inc. reported earnings of $4.6 million for the 2011 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30, down from the $12.4 million it earned in fiscal 2010. Its fourth-quarter net income was $2.2 million this fiscal year, compared with net income of $2.5 million in the 2010 fourth quarter. The company recorded charges of $1.6 million in the fourth quarter, $0.9 million after taxes, related to settlement of a previously disclosed class-action lawsuit related to the purported sale of certificates of deposit.
