Vilsack to visit Kemin headquarters
U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will visit Kemin Industries Inc. on Friday to highlight how manufacturing products from bio-based materials can strengthen American agriculture and create jobs across the country. The Des Moines-based research company uses plant-based materials to manufacture ingredients used in dietary supplements and in personal care products. Kemin is currently implementing a five-year expansion plan that will add six new manufacturing facilities, three new research facilities and a new corporate headquarters building in southeast Des Moines.
