Businesses encouraged to utilize disaster funds
The Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Economic Development Authority are encouraging businesses to take advantage of low-interest financing for repair, improvement or construction. The financing is available through $2 billion in Federal Midwestern Disaster Area Bonding money, which is available through the end of 2012. The state was allocated $2.6 billion in bonding authority in 2008 to be used in the 78 Iowa counties that were declared a major disaster area that year.
