Des Moines International Airport (DSM) officials, in conjunction with airport tenants Transportation Security Administration, rental car companies, airlines and parking, are reminding Central Iowa air travelers that Jan. 4 and 5 will be extremely busy departure days at DSM.

National media and political support teams will be leaving Iowa, along with the usual departure traffic. Preparation and cooperation can make the process go smoothly.

Be sure to check your flight status often, arrive at DSM two hours before your scheduled departure, pay close attention to signage and have your government-issued ID ready with your ticket information.
