AT&T, Tivo settle patent dispute
AT&T Inc. has agreed to pay TiVo Inc. a total of $215 million in the next six years to settle a patent suit concerning digital video recorders (DVRs),  MSN Money reported. AT&T also agreed to pay license fees between now and July 2018, depending on how many people subscribe to its DVR service. After its initial payment of $51 million, which is due immediately, AT&T will pay $164 million in regular quarterly payments through June 2018. The two companies dismissed their suits against each other in this agreement.
