Heppner to leave Salisbury House & Gardens
Salisbury House and Gardens has announced that its executive director, Mark Heppner, will leave the organization to take on a newly created position as vice president of the Ford Estates in Dearborn, Mich. Heppner, who had been with Salisbury House for three years, furthered the position of the nonprofit museum in the community and “ushered in a new vision of social entrepreneurialism and civic engagement,” said the foundation’s board chairman, Mike Simonson. During Heppner’s tenure, general attendance at the attraction has doubled, and volunteer engagement has nearly tripled, Simonson said. Heppner joined Salisbury House & Gardens in 2009 having previously spent 17 years at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron, Ohio.
