Iowa job outlook: More growth this fall

The Iowa Department of Revenue today predicted that employment growth will continue this fall. 

The Iowa Leading Indicators index gained 0.1 percentage points in June, led by the 12-month moving average for manufacturing hours, and a 5.1 percent increase from May 2012 compared with May 2011

Agricultural futures profits were the biggest negative component of the index, according to a release. 

New building permits increased by 8 permits in June, but overall building permits are 35 percent below the historical average for June. 

Unemployment insurance claims dropped in June by 3.5 percent compared to the same time last year, according to a release. Claims have been dropping for 32 consecutive months.
