The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is continuing to investigate Google Inc., based on allegations that the company’s search engine displays results from its enterprises first in searches and doesn’t direct consumers to its competitors’ websites.

The FTC has asked about a dozen companies, including eBay Inc. and Yelp Inc., to provide antitrust regulators any information they have on Google competing unfairly, according to Bloomberg.

Shopping websites such as NexTag Inc. and TheFind Inc. were also on the list of companies from which the FTC sought to gain more information about how Google treats competitors.

A European antitrust commission is also looking into Google’s actions and an official said Monday that Google needs to resolve conflicts of discriminating against competitors in the next few weeks to avoid fines. The FTC has hired Washington, D.C., litigator Beth Wilkinson to investigate Google, according to Bloomberg.
