The Des Moines Business Record received two awards at the summer conference of The Alliance of Area Business Publications (AABP) held in Charleston, S.C.: a silver award in the “Best Newspaper: Small Tabloids” category and a silver in the “Best Overall Design: Small Tabloids” category.

The Business Record marks its 25th anniversary as a weekly publication this fall; Connie Wimer founded the weekly paper and now serves as chairman. In 2007, Brown Publishing Co. of Ohio purchased Business Publications LLC, which publishes dsm magazine and several other Central Iowa publications along with the Business Record.

The AABP is a national organization of about 70 business newspapers.
