Hubbell eyes Waterford Landing for next residential development
Citing a need to expand its inventory of residential lots as the build-outs of Hubbell Realty Co.’s Bristol Cove and Days Run West developments near completion, the company said homes could start going up at Waterford Landing in 60 to 90 days.
“We need to bring more lots on line to serve our Urbandale market,” said Joe Pietruszynski, assistant vice president of land development.
On July 6, the Urbandale Planning and Zoning Commission will consider the extension of a site plan and final plat for the residential development located at the intersection of 160th Street and Waterford Road.
Pietruszynski said the development’s first phase will consist of 32 homes on the southern portion of the 136-acre site, and that about 340 single-family homes, ranging in price from $250,000 to $350,000 and up, could ultimately be constructed on the property.
“That’s at least a 10-year project,” said Rick Tollakson, Hubbell’s president and CEO, adding that the company plans to sell an unspecified number of lots to its subsidiary, Hubbell Holmes, the primary builder for all of the company’s residential developments in Greater Des Moines.
